All doors to the village hall must remain locked during class. This will prevent any member of the public walking in unnoticed. Therefore, the doors to the hall will be open 5 minutes before class to allow you to get in and settled. The doors will be locked at the beginning of class and remain locked during classes. If you choose to stay in the waiting area then please do keep an eye on the door for anyone. If you notice anyone in the hall or at the door who you do not recognise please alert Miss Florrie as soon as possible.
The people you may expect to see on the premises are; Parents/carers of children, students and adult dancers. No one else is permitted on the premises during classes. Anyone looking to get into the Village hall during classes should have notified Miss Florrie prior to this. This includes any other users of the hall unless previously agreed. If you have any doubt or concern about the intentions of anyone in the hall, please alert Miss Florrie.
Collection of children:
Each child must be collected by a responsible adult. When registering or re-registering your child, you will have to provide a list of approved adults who will be able to come and pick up your child. This could be the family members of the child or another child’s parent etc. If you are expecting someone other than yourself to pick up your child, it is essential that you notify Miss Florrie at drop off.
In the event of an emergency, (when an approved adult can’t pick up your child) , Miss Florrie will ask the individual collecting your child for the safeword. This safeword will be arranged when registering or re-registering your child. If the person collecting the student does not know the safeword, the child will not be able to leave Miss Florrie until a phone call to the given emergency contact is made. This emergency contact will be asked if it is okay that the student goes home with this adult. Therefore it is crucial that the safeword remains confidential between Responsible Adults and Miss Florrie. Please let your responsible adults know the safeword.
Whatsapp community group chat :
I’d like to build a community where I can send you updates via whatsapp. I foresee this being not only good for communicating things about the dance school but this could be used in case of emergencies also. You will be able to ask me and other parents questions. I will also be able to send you information and updates in the group chat. Please note; by agreeing to join this group chat, you are agreeing to sharing your phone number with other parents in your child’s class. You will be able to opt into this group upon registering or re-registering your child.
Thank you for your understanding. I hope this will give you peace of mind that the safety of yourselves and your child is of the utmost importance. Although we may not be able to control all situations I am always trying to mitigate any potential risks.
